But I will survive. We decided while we were boondocking that we really needed to be in a park, where we could have certain things we need, such as electricity when we wanted to watch TV, instead of using the generator once a day to make coffee, charge the phone, charge my nook, charge the laptop, and hubby could have his computer set up. So we started looking for a place to be.....one place wanted to "inspect" our RV, to make sure it was up to his standards. Well, that didn't set right with us, seeing how I always figured my money is green, (or plastic) just like the guy who has a brand new rig.....another place has NO amenities, no wifi, no cable, no showers, no NOTHING...so it was crossed off the list. At the KOA, which actually has reasonable rates, considering its a KOA, well the girl in the office didn't seem to want to do her job, and just told us they didn't have a spot? She didn't even look!! So our last chance was Kings Riverbend Park, in Montrose Co. They let us pick a spot, we chose one that was shady, and big. Then a week later we moved in. They have Wifi, no cable, but they do get digital signal for TV. There is only one shower though, and they have a couple porta potties for those that are a bit far from the one toilet facility. But I will survive.
Now comes the part that makes me unhappy. The day after we got here, it was discovered that there was a leak from their water pipe. We let them know, and then we waited. They ran a hose from another spot to ours to get us water, that was ok, at least for a few days. Then the owner of the park came by for the 100th time, being a bit nosey about EVERYTHING....when we got here I told them that my brother in law, who was supposed to have been gone was still with us for a few days, no problem, right? Wrong. First encounter with the park owner was after Terry and I had gone somewhere, she pretty much chased us down in her golf cart, wanting to know why we didn't stop at the camp host spot.............Terry said we were just going to our RV....Then the next day as Terry and Jay were playing horseshoes she again stopped and wanted to know who they were? Again we blew it off as we are the new people and she just wasn't used to us yet. Then comes the part that really blew me away and makes me want to leave this place. The RV Park owner again stopped and asked who my brother in law is.....less than 24 hours later, so Terry went outside again to explain, again.....but then we all started talking, and she realized that Terry was smoking....yes, my husband and I smoke, yes, its a nasty habit that we have tried to quit, but so far we have not been able to do. We did go 6 weeks without smoking a while back, so when its time to quit, we will!
She proceeded to lecture us a bit, and Jay, decided he had heard enough and his ride was almost here, so he cut the conversation short for us. Thank you Jay!!
Then, the next day, Saturday, she came by to tell us she had to move us..........because of the water leak, health department, etc.....we asked her if it would be a shady spot like the one we have and the answer was no....she had decided where to put us because we smoke and she didn't want to put us near anyone who might complain. Not only do we not have shade, we are in a smaller space with no room to sit outside and enjoy the mosquito pond she put us next to....yeah, I am not happy about it at all. They have since fixed the water leak, but we have not seen anyone at all to see if we can have our original spot back, you know the one we PICKED!!
